The ICL — Implantable Collamer Lens — sits behind the iris and in front of the eye's natural lens, correcting vision without removing any corneal tissue or the natural lens itself, through a micro-incision, insertion, precise placement and final positioning.
EYEONCE uses the EVO Aqua ICL with CentraFLOW technology, a phakic intraocular lens whose central-port design maintains the eye's natural aqueous fluid flow and removes the need for a separate iridotomy.
Because no corneal tissue is removed, ICL preserves the cornea's natural strength while correcting high myopia and astigmatism together, with a lower dry-eye risk than laser procedures and built-in UV protection.
It's the recommended path specifically for patients with high myopia or high astigmatism, very large pupils at night, thin corneas not suited to LASIK or LASEK, very dry eyes, or a history of corneal injury or disease.
Surgery itself is minimally invasive — a roughly 3mm micro-incision, folded lens insertion, precise positioning between the iris and natural lens, and final fixation — performed by ophthalmologists specialized in ICL surgery. Because the lens can be removed if needed, ICL remains fully reversible.
Recovery guidance is specific and time-based: stop soft contact lenses one week before surgery (two weeks for hard lenses), wear an eye shield during sleep for a week, avoid rubbing the eyes for a month, and avoid intense exercise, swimming and sauna for a month.
Every ICL plan follows the same steps: 3D ocular analysis mapping axial length, anterior chamber depth, corneal curvature and astigmatism, custom lens sizing and power calculation, surgery by Dr. Baek, and scheduled follow-up checks.
